Working in Massage Clinics and Studios in the past 12 years I have often found the LGBT Community, specifically gay men, prefer to have their massages performed by a male therapist. And sometimes this is frowned upon even though it shouldn't be. I have opened up my practice to be all-inclusive and understanding for my local community and offer professional massage therapy services to my clients from all walks of life throughout out the Greater Phoenix areas. While working in massage salons throughout the Valley I have heard many stories from clients who have been either mistreated or discriminated against due to their perceived sexual orientation. I also watch the news and see movements to discriminate against the LGBTQIA+ Communities across the country and it breaks my heart. I went into a career as a Massage Therapist because I truly believe in the power that it holds for one's body whether they are a man or woman, and no matter what they believe in. So, when I opened my own mobile massage business in Phoenix Arizona, I vowed that I would never discriminate against anyone based on age (as long as they are of legal age to receive a massage, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, national origin, or marital status.
I completely understand why a gay, bisexual, or queer man would want to hire a male massage therapist vs. a female therapist as it may be much more comfortable for them. Similar to how many straight females feel much more comfortable with female massage therapist. I place no judgment on your preferences as a human being and want you to know as a client of Mikes Mobile Massage you will always be treated with the respect you deserve.
